Clermont is a small but up and coming town in Hall County, Georgia. It has a population of around 1,000 people and is part of the Gainesville metro area. While the town is small in size, it boasts a number of great events, festivals, and medical facilities.

History of Clermont

Clermont is a quaint little town that boasts a rich and varied history. While it was only incorporated in 1994, it can trace its roots back to Native American times. The area was a critical piece of local history, impacted by the gold rush, the rise of the railroad, and the Civil War. Its most famous resident was Confederate General James Longstreet who retired close to the area following the war.
